The ballot question to voters:

"Shall the voters of the City of Boulder adopt changes to the charter that will require the election of the mayor by the voters using ranked choice voting (instant runoff) every 2 years starting in 2023, create a council of eight plus the mayor for a total of nine people, and establish term limits for the mayor?"

Here is a list of changes this ballot measure would make to the City's Charter:

​

• Voters will get to elect our mayor starting in 2023

• The mayor will be elected to a 2-year term

• A person can hold the office of mayor for no more than 8 years

• All City Council seats will be 4-year terms (no more 2-year terms for lowest vote getters)

• The mayoral election will use Ranked Choice Voting (Instant Runoff)
